Co-op, Firmware Engineering - Chelmsford (January 2026 to August 2026)

They are seeking an enthusiastic engineering student to assist with embedded firmware development, including coding in C/C++, debugging, testing on target hardware, and documenting results.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with embedded firmware development
  • Coding in C/C++
  • Debugging
  • Testing on target hardware
  • Documenting results

Skills

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must be enrolled for at least one semester after the internship concludes
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future
  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Preference given to students met on campus, at a national recruiting event, through a Rockwell Automation-hosted event or a targeted recruiting campaign
  • Preference given to students who have had prior intern or co-op with Rockwell Automation in the past
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Basic computer programming (C++, C, Python)
  • Experience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming
  • Previous experience with Industrial Automation products
  • Experience using Agile methodology
