ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR I

The California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking an Accounting Administrator I to enhance public safety and promote successful community reintegration through various programs. The role involves overseeing accounting services and ensuring compliance with fiscal policies and procedures within a governmental context.

Skills

  • Completion of educational courses as specified in the Class Specification
  • A Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired
  • Demonstrated quality and breadth of knowledge of general (e.g. GAAP, GASB) and governmental accounting principles and theories (including internal control), of business law, of various control agencies, and regulations listed in the State Administrative Manual pertaining to accounting and budgeting
  • Experience in preparing reconciliations and reviewing/auditing financial information, and ability to analyze a variety of financial documents to determine compliance with fiscal policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of leadership and personnel management principles and time management and conflict resolution techniques
  • Ability to independently prioritize, plan, organize, and direct the work of others; and facilitate meetings and discussions to meet project objectives and deadlines
  • Comprehensive experience communicating within a multi-level government organization including researching, writing, and interpreting technical and non-technical documents (e.g. statistical and analytical reports, procedures, policy memos, etc.)
  • Extensive experience with computer applications particularly Microsoft software and knowledge of enterprise software
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional demeanor, use tact and diplomacy when dealing with the needs, problems, and/or concerns of other staff, stakeholders and/or the public
