Junior Designer

ALA Studio is a full service architecture and interior design firm based in NYC, specializing in innovative designs for various commercial spaces. They are seeking a Junior Designer to contribute to interior design projects, assist with client communication, and support the design team in various capacities.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning and concepting, BIM modeling, preparing design presentations, visualizations and construction drawings
  • Assist with research, design, selection, specification, & documentation of interior design elements such as furniture, fixtures, finishes, millwork, lighting, etc
  • Assist with on-site surveying, construction administration and FF&E/Styling installation review
  • Communicate and interface with clients, engineering consultant, vendors, dealers, manufacturers, fabricators & contractors
  • Learn from and work closely under our Studio Director and Project Managers
  • Maintain materials library and develop product and sample collection

Skills

  • 0-3 post-degree years of relevant experience at an architecture or design office
  • MUST have experience and proficiency in Revit and Enscape
  • Comfort with multi-tasking and collaboration within a context of fast-paced projects
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and willing to take on a variety of tasks
  • Excellent English language communication and client-facing skills
  • Work examples that demonstrate a sophisticated design sensibility
  • Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Excel, Smartsheet knowledge is also required
  • Located in NYC area and available start ASAP
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States, without need for employer sponsorship
  • Experience on DD/CD phases for interior architecture projects is a plus
  • FF&E sourcing and specification experience a plus
