Electrical Engineer-In-Training - New Graduate (Saskatoon)

Hatch is a global company committed to positive change in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer-in-Training, New Graduate to support global projects in their Project Delivery Group, focusing on electrical and power system engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Industrial electrical design for LV, MV and HV power distribution including development of single line diagrams, motor schematics, protection/control schemes and layout drawings
  • Electrical system modelling using Easypower/ETAP, conducting arc flash and other studies
  • Development of technical specifications, reports and construction work packages
  • Power system control programming, configuration, implementation on-site and commissioning
  • Interfacing and collaboration with project team members, clients and vendors

Skills

  • Must be working towards graduating in 2026, or recently graduated, with a Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Applied Science, or Master of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Good knowledge of power systems, AC and DC design and electrical design fundamentals
  • Courses in electric circuits, power electronics and electric machines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges
  • Adapts and embraces change
  • Previous coop or work terms in electrical engineering design/execution will be considered an asset
