Key Responsibilities

- Review data from the general ledger, unit reports, and other financial systems to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and verifications
- Investigate projects related to financial accounting strategies, techniques, or systems
- Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies
- Offer practical guidance and training to colleagues
- Collaborate and communicate with partners throughout the organization
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, analysis, financial reporting, or risk reporting, or equivalent experience demonstrated through a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of SEC/Federal quarterly reporting experience
- Fiserv data/knowledge and COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment implementation
- Military experience or analytical experience including operational management, project management, mission development management, and financial management
- 1+ year of credit card industry reporting experience
- Corporate/business loan products knowledge
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Big 4/regional public accounting/financial services experience
- Proficiency in Transitional Essbase/SmartView and advanced Microsoft Excel with VLOOKUP/pivot tables
- Solid knowledge/experience with General Ledger reconciliations and automation tools
- Independent judgment/creative problem-solving to investigate/identify/anticipate downstream effects in complex matrixed environments
- Knowledge/understanding of US GAAP financial statements or components preparation with the ability to translate/summarize complex data into understandable, meaningful information and recommendations
Skills and Competencies
To excel in this role, you should possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) and have a strong understanding of accounting, reporting, and internal control issues.
