Patient Care Specialist Vision Clinic

  • Works at Vision Clinic front desk greeting patients, answering phone calls, and scheduling/confirming patient appointments. Collect payments and completes end of day tasks.
  • Respond to all patient calls/requests and assist the patient with the outside referral process. Assist patient in coordinating care with other health care providers.
  • Assists with scanning protected health information into NextGen EHR system. Complies with HIPAA rules and maintains all patient information confidentially and securely.
  • Order contact lenses and dispense to patient upon arrival.
  • Assists with confirmation of Contract Health benefits and insurance verification.
  • Gather and maintain confidential patient information to ensure accurate records for medical reasons and billing purposes.
  • Assist in special projects as assigned by the Supervisor, Clinical Operations - Vision Clinic.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of optical or medical front desk experience preferred.
  • Good computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other business-related software as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must hold and maintain Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • If not CPR certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 90 days of employment.
