What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. This role will give you the flavour of the type of things you’ll be working on, but expect it to evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on: • Leading a cross-functional backend and infrastructure team to build features that make Canva a truly localised experience • Coaching and growing a skilled team of 6+ engineers, fostering a happy, healthy, high-performing culture • Driving technical delivery and designing the product and technical roadmap for internationalisation systems • Refining team processes to ensure effective and sustainable delivery • Championing automation and AI, integrating them into workflows and technical solutions • Collaborating with product and engineering teams across Canva to build scalable localisation and translation services

You’re probably a match if

• You’ve managed and coached engineering teams, providing constructive feedback and supporting their growth • You have experience leading technical delivery and driving impactful change, both through leadership and as an individual contributor • You’re familiar with backend and infrastructure engineering, and comfortable collaborating across specialities • You’re curious about AI’s role in improving developer and design workflows • You have strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and scalable software systems

About the team

The Internationalisation team owns critical infrastructure and services that power localisation and translation of Canva’s language assets — both human and AI-driven. We work with product teams across search, templates, and marketplace to build capabilities that help Canva reach a global audience.
