Job Highlights

Responsibilities
As a part-time online educator with Hoot Reading, you will be responsible for providing 1:1 lessons to students using our innovative technology and Science of Reading curriculum. You will work closely with our team to ensure that students receive high-quality instruction and support, and you will be expected to:
- Provide 1:1 lessons to students during school hours through school-district partnerships
- Use our innovative technology to deliver instruction and support students
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum
- Participate in our robust professional development program to stay up-to-date on best practices and research-based instruction
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school administrators to ensure student success
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in education (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of K-6 teaching experience with a strong grasp of phonics, decoding, and reading fundamentals
- Tech-savvy with a reliable laptop, internet, and quiet workspace
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
* 1+ year of teaching experience
- Experience working with students who require additional support
- Familiarity with Science of Reading curriculum and instructional strategies
- Experience working with technology to support instruction and student engagement
