Job Summary

As a Medical Customer Service Representative, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that patients and families receive the support and information they need to navigate the healthcare system. You'll be responsible for answering inbound calls, gathering and reviewing patient billing and medical information, and collaborating with carriers to ensure coverage of medication on behalf of the patient. Key Responsibilities

* Answer inbound calls and occasionally make outbound calls to assist with medically related inquiries

  • Use computer skills for data entry and gather and review patient billing and medical information
  • Collaborate with carriers to ensure coverage of medication on behalf of the patient
  • Provide positive customer service and empathy to patients and families
  • Utilize basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes to resolve patient inquiries

Requirements

* 1 year or more of recent call center experience (no exceptions)

  • High-speed internet with modem access
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)
  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 8am-10pm CST, Monday-Saturday
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare setting or with medical terminology

  • Knowledge of insurance processes and billing procedures
  • Certification in customer service or a related field
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills
