About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Agent to join our blithequark Retiree Health Solutions (ARHS) Sales and Service Center (SSC) team. As a Customer Service Agent, you will play a vital role in assisting Medicare-eligible retirees in selecting appropriate Medicare health plans. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, respond to customer inquiries, and provide support with website navigation and self-service options. If you have a basic understanding of Medicare and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, we encourage you to apply for this temporary virtual position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to confirm, schedule, or reschedule participant appointments with Benefit Advisors
  • Answer inbound phone calls regarding application status or general customer inquiries
  • Respond to instant live chat requests from customers
  • Assist customers with website navigation and self-service options
  • Document all conversations and actions taken on each interaction
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced business environment
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and take initiative to resolve customer issues

Essential Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 1+ years of customer service experience in a call center environment (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of Medicare health, prescription drug plans, vision, and dental enrollments (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication and rapport-building skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, computer telephony, internet, and computer tools

  • Previous experience working in a virtual or remote environment
  • Familiarity with insurance or complex information
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong active listening skills and ability to understand verbal and non-verbal cues
