About the Role

The Corporate Equipment Engineering Manager is a pivotal position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaborative leadership. This role is designed to address chronic downtime issues, improve equipment performance, and provide comprehensive support to our manufacturing plants. As a subject matter expert, you will work closely with plant teams to develop preventive maintenance programs, evaluate equipment performance, and coordinate overhauls and rebuilds. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting complex equipment issues, leading structured problem-solving exercises, and supporting automation hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical resource for plants experiencing downtime events, chronic issues, or lacking technical resources, providing on-site and remote support.
  • Build professional relationships with plant teams through effective, solution-oriented communication.
  • Participate in system installations and retrofits on liquid packaging lines, including both hot fill and cold fill processes.
  • Assist maintenance teams in evaluating the effectiveness of preventive maintenance (PM) programs, planning equipment overhauls, and developing long-term asset care strategies.
  • Troubleshoot a wide range of bottling and support equipment, including fillers, cappers, labelers, and more, identifying when vendor support is necessary.
  • Coordinate with vendors during critical downtime events and communicate findings with plant leadership to develop long-term strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-discipline teams to observe machine performance, identify issues, and lead structured problem-solving exercises.
  • Support automation hardware and software, including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
  • Oversee capital projects, manage new equipment installations, and assist in developing long-term capital improvement plans.
  • Maintain and update the Line Information System (LIS) to ensure accurate reporting of Operations Excellence (OE) data.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for new equipment to ensure compliance with company standards.

Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in equipment engineering or maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of liquid packaging processes and equipment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting high-speed packaging equipment.
  • Proficiency in automation hardware and software, including PLCs and HMIs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead structured problem-solving exercises.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with plant teams.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy:

  • Experience with capital project management.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing environments.
