About the Role

As an American Express Intern, you will be part of our diverse tech crew, working on architecting, coding, and shipping software that makes us a crucial part of our clients' virtual lives. You will have the opportunity to work with modern technologies, collaborate with talented engineers, and contribute to the development of innovative AI/ML solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing AI/ML applications and use cases
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impacting products
  • Developing and deploying ML models, creating reusable ML artifacts, and performing testing and validation
  • Setting up and leading the implementation of software development practices such as CI/CD pipelines and ML model deployments
  • Enabling the deployment, support, and monitoring of software programs across test, integration, and production environments

Key Responsibilities

As a senior member of an Agile team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement practices, working closely with other AI/ML groups, data scientists, and product owners to refine business capabilities and design and build sports. You will also be involved in technical development, architecture, and design of ML products and platforms, as well as setting up and leading the implementation of software development practices.

  • Feature as a senior member of an Agile team, driving continuous improvement practices
  • Work closely with other AI/ML groups, data scientists, and product owners to refine business capabilities and design and build sports
  • Develop GCS ML Product and platform architecture, working closely with technical architects and architecture governance teams
  • Get involved in technical development, architecture, and design of ML products and platforms
  • Setup and lead the implementation of software development practices such as CI/CD pipelines and ML model deployments

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Data Science
  • 4+ years of equivalent experience in related disciplines
  • Experience with design and development of AI/ML applications
  • Proven track record of designing and developing AI/ML use cases and end-to-end ML products, including data visualization and model becoming
  • Hands-on coding experience in Python or equivalent language and knowledge in big data technologies such as Hive, Spark

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, MAPR (plus), NoSQL) and machine learning algorithms
  • A successful design, creation, and deployment of one or more enterprise-grade technology assets, such as integration of cross-platform solutions in an Agile product environment
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories, PI
  • Knowledge of software engineering as well as software development methodologies
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
