About the Role

As a Manager or Senior Manager in our Control Management function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of operational risks across our business units. You will lead cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, and develop and implement control frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Amex policies.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the development and implementation of operational risk management strategies and control frameworks

  • Collaborate with business units to identify and assess operational risks, and develop mitigation plans
  • Develop and maintain control frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Amex policies
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement control enhancements and remediation plans
  • Analyze data and identify trends to inform risk management decisions
  • Communicate risk management information to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry partners

Essential Qualifications

* 3+ years of experience in operational risk management, with a strong understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities

  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous

  • Experience in at least one of the following:

+ Translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines + Tracking and identifying issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds + Oversee the implementation of the operational risk governance frameworks + Communicating and ensuring understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards + Facilitating the operational risk exam management processes

  • Experience in the financial services industry

* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex risk management information to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
  • Proficient in risk management frameworks and control methodologies
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually, plus bonus and benefits. We also offer a range of benefits and programs to support our colleagues' physical, financial, and mental well-being.
